One Lonely Lab: A Personal Narrative By: Christina Mastin
There were so many dogs in the pound that day, it was quite sad to see. When we came to one kennel I just stopped and stared. There was the sweetest black lab just staring at me.
My brother convinced me to take him out to play. He really did look sad just sitting there. Once we were outside he pranced around and followed me everywhere.
"What a good boy!"
As we returned the lab to the kennel, I started feeling sad about putting him back there. As my brother and I walked out of the kennel, another lady came in and asked about the lab."He's mine", I yelled.
Woof! Woof! WOooof!
A few days later, I picked him up from the pound. He was so excited to see me. As we drove home, I knew that we would have a special friendship.
Onyx was a wonderful friend for 15 years.
"I love you Onyx".
