  • In 1754 the British and the French both wanted more land in North America.
  • The French allied with the Indians. The war officially started in 1756 and lasted 7 years.
  • In one of the first battles, Colonel George Washington led troops into battle but he was defeated.
  • The British began to win battles with their naval fights.

  • 1759 General James Wolfe went to battle at Quebec. He forced the french to abandon the city and defeated them. This was the end of the war.
  • The British gained control of more land including parts of Canada. After the war the colonist had to pay higher taxes to help pay for the war.
