Emotional: Brave, rude, and prideful at first, but later becomes depressed after Bruno becomes missing
Physical: Tall good postured soldier. Mustache. White adult male.
Emotional: Grateful to father for helping her mother and she is also very serious at times
“Heil Hitler," he said, which, he presumed, was another way of saying, "Well, goodbye for now, have a pleasant afternoon.” This shows how clueless he is, because he does not know what he is saying. Bruno is 9 and is quite childish. He is the main character of the novel.
Physical: Not much is said but she is a middle aged German women.
Emotional: Sad and hopeless, wishes he could go home or play with Bruno
“He decided to talk to the Hopeless Case." This shows how she is rude because people view her as a hopeless case. Meaning she is an unlikable character. Gretel is 13 and is one of the main characters. She is the sister of Bruno.
Physical: Very thin and extremely pale. Fingers are very long and thin. He is also bald.
Emotional: According to Bruno he is very rude, impolite, and impatient
“Those people... well, they're not people at all, Bruno” This shows how rude he is because he does not view the Jews as people. Age unknown, probably late 40's. He is a main character and influences Bruno greatly.
The Fury (Hitler)
Physical: Black mustache, old, and and considered to be short
"A very good man. He takes care of all of us." This shows how Maria is grateful that father helped her out a lot. She is a middle aged woman who is a maid. She is not really that important in the story.
“Bruno: We're not supposed to be friends, you and me. We're meant to be enemies. Did you know that? ” This shows how he is sad. Also a major character. Probably the second most important. He is also about 9.
"What a horrible man, thought Bruno." This quote shows how Bruno does not like the Fury due to his rude and impolite mannerisms. Not a main character but he did cause all the events in the story to take place.
