Storyboard Text

  • Great!
  • Lewis and Clark have reached the Mandan Village with their fellow explorers.
  • I have spotted an Indian tribe!
  • Lewis is trying to make a good first impression with the Grand Chief Black Cat of the Mandans, and it's working.
  • Hello! This is Captain Clark and I am Captain Lewis.
  • We are the Mandan Indians, and this is our village.
  • Lewis, Clark, Black Cat, and an interpreter walked the land to see what it was like; fertile soil, but sparse timber.
  • The Mandan Indians will allow the explorers to build Fort Mandan and stay for the winter.
  • We would like to spend the winter here.
  • We have a deal; that sounds great!
  • Why don't you build a fort here for the winter!
  • Clark spent his time writing about the area, and about the Mandan and Hidatsa Indians.
  • Zzzzz...
  • Hmmm...
  • Four Weeks Later...
  • After a long four weeks, their fort was completed, and there was already six inches of snow on the ground.
  • It sure is cold!
  • At least we have completed Fort Mandan.
