  • The old man's eye enrages me. It enters my head vehemently I have to get rid of it, I must kill him!
  • I shall look and gather information every night, my plan will have lots of sagacity.
  • 
  • Yes, I have finally killed the evil eye. The derision will stop.
  • The Narrator plots to kill the old man because he cannot handle his evil eye. He wants to get rid of it permanently.
  • I have convinced them there was no foul play, their supposition is that I made the cry.
  • That was just me officer,  come on in, the old man is away this week.
  • One of your neighbors called, they said they heard a cry from the old man.
  • The narrator goes to the old man's room every night to gather information and formulate a plan to kill the old man.
  • He's dead, WHY IS HIS EVIL HEART STILL BEATING? They hear it, they are mocking me.
  • I killed the old man! His body is under the boards, hearken to what I am saying.
  • The narrator kills the old man by suffocating him and finally gets rid of the evil eye.
  • One of the neighbor's hears the old man's cry and calls the police. The narrator convinces them that it was just him.
  • He hears the heart beat of the old man and feels guilty, he confesses to his crime.
