Let' s send a letter to Ottawa. They aren't helping us with anyting.
In the summer of 1884 a group of Metis led by Gabriel Dumont went to the U.S.A. in order to get Louis Riel back to the Metis.
Louis Riel and the Metis had came to the community of Batoche and started to set up their government.
So the Metis, lead by Riel, sent a letter to Ottawa containing their Bill of Rights. They also wanted the creation of two new provinces to the west of Manitoba. They also wanted food rations for the First Nations.
