  • Please, Kino, let us throw the pearl. It is evil! 
  • Hush. We shall not throw it. I am a man
  • Coyotito gets  stung by a scorpion and the poison makes him very sick
  • Falling Action: Brave and Agressive
  • Kino dives into the water to see if he can find a pearl that will bring them luck and hope. But people are after him now and he decides to flee into the mountains, but still, trackers are behind him.
  • Resolution: Sad and Sorrowful
  • Juana keeps saying they should throw the pearl away because it is only bringing them bad luck. First, the doctor tries to steal it, next someone tries to kill Kino, and now, trackers and a man with a gun are behind him. But Kino refuses and decides to try to get rid of the trackers.
  • Right before Kino attacks, Coyotito cries and the men hear it. One of them takes out the gun, and just before Kino can jump onto him to kill him, he shoots up at the cave where Juana and Coyotito hide. Kino kills all the trackers but Coyotito is dead.
