The ghost of the dead king Hamlet comes at night but does not speak to the guards even tho they constantly ask him questions.
The ghost speaks to hamlet (his son) and tells him how he was murdered by his uncle who is now the king and married his wife. He then asks hamlet to get revenge for is death.
Hamlet has a play put on to reenact the murder of his father to see if Claudius would show guilt on his face to make sure the ghost was telling the truth. Claudius shows guilt and eventually leaves the room.
