  • Northern Free States: Feelings about state additions?
  • Let's not let Missouri be a state!
  • We can't let the balance of power go in favor of the south! We need more free states!
  • Northern Free States: Feelings about the 36°30′ line?
  • This is our chance to get more power and states. We should use this opportunity wisely!
  • Northern Free States: Who was involved?
  • We need to end the evil that is slavery. Let us make more comprises.
  •  The wanted to keep balance or have more power in the Senate so if more free states were added the power will go in favor of the south. They wanted to do anything they could to stop the power addition to the south. 
  • Southern Slave States: Feelings about state additions?
  • Popular soverty is an opportunity to get more states and power.
  • The North liked the 36 30 line because there was more land north of the line and the line guaranteed them land and states. It also let Maine be a state.
  • Southern Slave States: Feelings about the 36°30′ line?
  • We need to get more land from Mexico so we get balance. There is not enough land for the 36 30.
  • Abraham Lincon and President Fillmore were two main Northerners who led their party and kept the peace. They proposed many ideas.
  • Southern Slave States: Who was involved?
  • We need more power. The 36 30 line is a good start and we need Texas to be a part of our land. We need to spread slavery.
  • They liked that some of the new territories that were applying had slaves and allowed slavery in their state. They also supported states choseing because it gave them a chance to get some northern states.
  • We need to move more people into the new territories. 
  • They like that it guaranteed them land and states but they did not like the north having the chance to have more land. 
  • Henry Clay and James K. Polk were two main southern representatives. Henry Clay proposed the 36 30 line and Polk wanted to bring Texas to the south.
