There once was a king named Hrothgar that ruled the land of the Danes. He and his people were living happily without a care in the world.
I have such a good following of people.
The great mead hall Herot was a popular spot in the kingdom. It was full of songs and dancing. The people were having the best time. Until they heard a loud banging at the door.
Here it is, the mighty hall of Herot.
Crashing through the door was the demon Grendel. A beast of lore that was trapped under the mead hall and was getting angry because of all the singing and dancing.
It's the demon Grendel, protect the king!
The terror continues for 12 years. Herot stands empty until a warrior named Beowulf, prince of the Geats, comes to the aid of the Danes. He gathers a body of men to aid in his battle. He and his men wait patiently for the demon Grendel to enter Herot.
Now we wait for the demon Grendel to attack. Be prepared men.
A great battle ensues. Beowulf manages to get behind Grendel and pulls his arm as he writhes in pain. Grendel is growing more scared of Beowulf as he pulls his arm tighter. Beowulf manages to rip the arm right off the shoulder and mounts it in the rafters of Herot.
Prepare to die you unholy beast!!
At long last, peace has finally been restored to the land of the Danes. Beowulf is regarded as a hero in Denmark. Herot returns to its former glory and songs ring out in Beowulfs victory.
