After a long month and a half, April 5th arrives when my brother and I stay the night because of Caleb's important day on Friday. We stay the whole day Friday while Caleb is in the OR having surgery. This was a very tedious day for both me and my family.
X. The Road Back
During surgery, CPR is done two times and once more less than 15 feet away from me in our room. We thought Caleb was done fighting at roughly 7 that night but he remained there until 2:55 AM on April 7th, 2018 when he lived his last minute on Earth.
XI. Threshold Crossing - Resurrection
I bless this family with strength and faithfulness..
Although there seems like no real reward here, the true reward was that Caleb was finally healed in the way the Lord intended. We weren't disappointed at all knowing Caleb was happy and this is what the Lord wanted. We had the hard part but we also rejoiced knowing Caleb had no more suffering and that we will see him again.
XII. Return with Elixir - "Freedom to Live"
The week after Caleb's death is definitely the hardest week of our lives when we grieve as family because of what our new life will be like. Through this sorrow though we find joy knowing Caleb is safe and that he left behind his legacy for my brother and me to live out.
As our visitation and celebration arrives for Caleb, we see a lot of people we haven't seen in a long time. We show many emotions which express our love for Caleb and the many visitors who are there for support.
After the weekend of visitation and celebration, we have to find our new normal and be happy with what our life will be like. We find our new "normal" and find happiness with what we got. We schedule new vacation plans knowing it won't be the same this time.
