  • "Double, double toil and trouble, / Fire burn, and cauldron bubble." (4.1.10-11)
  • Macbeth comes to know his fate and the apparitions tell him.
  • "...Macbeth! Beware Macduff..." (4.1.81)
  • "...answer me / To what I ask you." (4.1.62-63)
  • Ross comes to tell Lady Macduff that Macduff has left.
  • "Wisdom! To leave his wife, to leave his babes..." (4.2.6)
  • The murderers come to kill Lady Macduff and her son.
  • "He has killed me, mother. / Run away, I pray you!" (4.2.80-81)
