Storyboard Text

  • Hey, have you seen those protests going on?
  • In late 1963
  • Yeah, there's a lot of people!
  • It's crazy how so many people rallied together!
  • Well, it makes sense. There are so many songs being released that demand cultural change, and these bring people together.
  • It's those people like Bob Dylan. His song "Blowin' In the Wind" has everybody thinking about how there is so much wrong with our world.
  • True. After listening to that song and others like it, I want social change too!
  • I think you're right. Music has an incredible power to bring forth change, because it unites people in a way nothing else can.
  • For sure! Everybody can listen to music, and it allows the common people's voice to be heard.
  • People also feel affected by it more sometimes. A lot of people feel more impact from a well-written song than a person in politics delivering a speech.
  • That is a great point. I used to think that the only way social change could happen was from politicians and the government creating certain policies.
  • The entire mindset of the people has been changed. Music artists wrote songs, and they created cultural change.
  • Music really can do amazing things!
  • A few years later
