  • Session 1: Introduction to topic, assessment of prior knowledge. Pupil voice – what do they want to know about the topic? Compose some key questions relating to your research topic.On padlet, access the video about plastic pollution in the UK. Discuss the effects of plastic pollution. Explain end task.Begin research on iPads and computers.To Conclude session, reflect as a group what have we learned today and what would we like to research next week.
  • Session 2:Using iPads and computers continue with further research. Begin to type up onto a word document key questions from session one and investigate ways to communicate your findings in an engaging way onto your PowerPoint and your padlet. Use reliable sources of info - No wikipedia!Reflection: All discuss the interesting ways you considered to use in your PowerPoint and padlet and vote as a group which ideas you will use in your end PowerPoint and Padlet. Have you used good sources for info?
  • Session 3: Type up on teams your key information for your PowerPoint and Padlet.Points to remember: Do not repeat information on both. Consider the organisation of text and the flow. What will you use? Bullet Points? Speech Bubbles? Videos? Voice notes? Animations? Proof Read - spelling/grammar.Make sure discussion is key! Know what your team are doing and co-operate.
  • Session 4:During this session the PowerPoint needs to be created. Make it creative. Include your points that you recorded from last week on your teams word doc. Don't forget to leave a spare slide at the end for your padlet QR. Remember to not include all of your information on your powerpoint, save some for your padlet.Reflection: How did you decide what to include? Would you have changed anything if you had to do it again?
  • Session 5:Time to make your padlet! Take the key information that you did not include in your PowerPoint and use them in your tablet. You can add links to interesting articles, any good video sources, ideas for classroom activities (such as letter templates to the prime minister or Chester zoo). You can make information videos or news reports and upload them. Add the QR code to your PowerPoint to be accessed by the other classes. Practice your presentation.Reflection: Are you happy with everything? Are you ready to present?
  • Session 6:Time to present! Have fun and enjoy showing everyone the results of your hard work and research!Reflection: If you were to do this again would you do anything differently? Are you happy with how everything went? What other topics could we research and present using the computing techniques we have been using?
