Storyboard Text

  • Exposition
  • "You think your too good for us? 'Just because you finished high school and have a job in town!'"
  • Inciting Incident
  • Rising Action
  • "Wanna join our gang?"
  • Uncle Luis was shouting at Papa in Spanish for moving somewhere closer to his work. Uncle Luis didn't want him to move and was trying to convince him not to move somewhere far from him. But the reason why they are moving is to move away from Uncle Luis.
  • Climax
  • A kid whose wet, combed hair, scrubbed face, and neatly patched clothes stuck out his foot to trip the narrator. But he saw his foot like his cousin did in country, and he stepped on it good and hard without giving him a glance. 
  • Falling Action
  • The narrator meet up with Chango and his gang on the star after school. Chango asked the narrator if he wanted to join his gang and before Chango could answer if he said no the bell saved him from Chango's answer.
  • Resolution
  • Each Saturday the narrator would go to the theaters and watch a movie with the rest of his gang. Sometimes during the movie they would shout "Carlos!" and the monitor would come in a search for him. But there was never a Carlos.
  • A new neighbor has moved in and he was different from other kids. The narrator thought he was just a kid who didn't know Spanish at all. Later on he ganged up on him at his school with the rest of his friends.
  • The narrator had to bring the kid to the movies with him because his mom told him to. When they got there Chango asked what the kid was doing with the narrator. The narrator knew he was going to get beat up if he didn't answer them so he said that he was a kid that can speak Spanish but in a different way and that saved him from getting beat up.
