two brothers were kidnaped and put in a river to drown they were then raised by wolves. They got in a fight years later over what to name a city and they fought to the death
there was an upper and lower class. There was a senate and 2 consuls. the senators were chosen by consuls and a senator for life.
early Roman Empire
in the first Punic war it went badly for Rome but then Rome won. in the second Punic war Rome won after destroying Carthage. and in the third Punic war Rome burned Carthage's capital and sowed the fields with salt.
Caesar Augustus and the Pax Romana
he gave money to the poor. he was assassinated by people of the Senate. he declared himself ruler for life.
Caesars closest friend and his adopted son split the kingdom and shared but Antony, Caesars friend fell in love with the queen of Egypt. Caesars son fought with Antony until he and Cleopatra fed to Egypt and killed themselves.
Caesar's adopted son, Octavian became known as Caesar Augustus. Though Octavian had many titles Caesar Augustus was his most interesting. Under Augustus' rule the Pax Romana began 200 years of peace and prosperity.
