  • The Exposition of this story starts but taking place in Paris 18-. We are first introduced to the Dupin who is the detective. Who meets the narrator in the Rue Morgue Library when they we both trying to find the same book. That's how they started their friendship/detective work.   
  • Climax
  • The conflict of the story is when Dupin and the narrator read the story about how Madam L'Espanaye and her daughter Mademoiselle Camille L'Espanaye's murders.
  • Falling Action
  • The rising action of the story is when the second news paper story came out with more clues and all the witness story's.
  • Resolution
  • The Climax of the story is when Dupin is explaining to the narrator why he thinks the culprit is the missing Orangutan. And after showing him the article he put in the news paper, they hurt steps on coming from the stairs.
  • The falling action was when Dupin and the narrator were talking to the sailor (who was the owner of the Orangutan). The sailor was able to confirm Dupin because he saw the whole crime happen.
  • The resolution was when they released Le Bon who they thought did the crime but it really was the Orangutan.
