1920s comic part 2

Storyboard Text

  • A few months later...
  • I wonder where Sarah is? She told me she would be here for a picnic with me. Maybe I should go to her house to see if everything is okay.
  • Meanwhile, at Sarah's house....
  • WHERE DO YOU THINK YOU ARE GOING SARAH! THE LOCALS HAVE TOLD ME ALL ABOUT YOU AND THAT BLACK BOY! YOU KNOW THAT IS UNACCEPTABLE AND WHAT THE CONSQUENCES ARE!
  • No father, please do not hurt me! I keep quite about your hooch and when you necked that sheba. Please do not do this!
  • Moments later...
  • Wait, what is happening! That man is hurting her!
  • RUN SARAH, RUN!!! FOLLOW ME!
  • Both start running away...
  • GET BACK HERE!!!
  • Once they've lost her father...
  • SARAH WHAT HAPPENED? WHO WAS THAT MAN? WHY WAS HE HURTING YOU?
  • I am a moll, and that was my father. He runs a speakeasy and brings in giggle water from America. He is a hard-boiled and bluenose man. He hates Black men and found out we were friends. The alcohol gives him the heebie-jeebies, reminding him of the war, so he hits me.
  • And that's it! Stay tuned for more historical comics!
  • I am so sorry to hear that Sarah, but I also have something to share. I've carried a torch on you for quite some time. I know a place called the Crane River Indian Reserve, we will be accepted there. So Sarah, will you marry me?
  • YES! Yes I will. We shall move to that place and start a new life!
