Storyboard Text

  • I'm glad you asked RNA!
  • Hey Mr. DNA, what is the central dogma?
  • The first thing you need to know is transcription. During transcription, the DNA is unzipped and a mRNA strand is created as the copy of that gene!
  • Bye, I'm off to a ribosome!
  • Next, the mRNA leaves the nucleus and heads to a ribosome.
  • See you later mRNA!
  • Now it's time for translation!
  • During translation, the newly created RNA is used as a recipe to build a protein.
  • The ribosome leads the mRNA and attaches amino acids in the correct order  to make a protein!
  • Not much, it can cause slight mutations in the protein, but it won't mess up everything if there is one little mistake.
  • Wow, this is great! Now I know all about the central dogma! But what happens when a mistake is made?
  • No problem RNA!
  • Thank you for teaching me all of this DNA!
