Storyboard Text

  • The Americans kicked them out because they thought they were to powerful.
  • The person who made the Mormons was Joseph Smith and he and his brother got arrested and then got killed in jail by a mob.  And America  threatened them  to leave.  I don't know why they did not fight back. Maybe they did not want to risk it.
  • What's wrong?
  • Story of the Mormons
  • The Americans are kicking us out!!!
  • They had to walk 1300 miles to Utah but when they did they made a community.
  • I'm very sorry people we need to walk to somewhere else
  • Why are they so mean
  • Why don't we fight
  • I'm so hungry
  • They walked 1,300 miles. They were too poor to buy horses or wagons.
  • Your gonna half to suck it up
  • Stop fighting
  • We are halfway there
  • Luckily, not many Mormons lost their lives on the journey west.  They were luckier than many of the other groups.
  • So hungry
  • Me too
  • How will we build our community again
  • We finally made it hear.
  • Along the journey, they built cabins, dug wells, and planted crops. When they reached Utah, Young said this would be the right place to settle.
  • From back then to now our lifes have changed a lot and we are very lucky.
  • I know right.
  • Fun facts... Joseph Smith had facts about him in the first page but I want to say more about him.  He found a church called the Church of Jesus Christ and that's  how he made the community called the Mormons. Back then they were very poor but people thought they were a big threat to them. Another fact is, that they first settled in Missouri and Ohio and then when Americans came in and kicked them out, then they had to go to Utah. Last fact is, that they wanted their freedom in New York in 1830.
