Storyboard Text

  • August is a boy with a distorted face. He lives with his parents, sister Via, and a dog called Daisy. He lives like a normal ten year old, and is now used to his face, and the way people look at him. He has only been home-schooled, and never to an actual school. He doesn't like to talk with other children, but now his mum has convinced him to go to a real school called Beecher Prep. He has agreed, but hopes that when he starts his school he won't be bullied. He and his mum are going to meet Mr Tushman, the principal of Beecher Prep. But he hasn't been told that three of his future classmates were going to take him on a tour.
  • Auggie, don't worry. You'll be fine.
  • August, I have planned a tour with some students who'll be in your homeroom this year.
  • Well, August here are 3 of your classmates. Thanks for coming guys, though school doesn't start till next month! You'll get to know each other well while you take August on the grand tour.
  • Hey. I'm Jack.
  • Hey. I'm Julian.
  • Hello, nice to meet you. I'm Charlotte.
  • Im taking the science elective.
  • And so the tour had begun...
  • Nice!
  • Wait, if you've never been in a school, how come you you can just do the science elective. It's probably the hardest one of them all, why do you think you can just go and do it? Have you even ever done real science?
  • We put on a play every year. It's really scary when you perform. Hey, maybe you will take the Theatre-Art Elective!
  • Anyway, can I ask you a question?
  • What's wrong with your face?
  • You SHUT UP!!
  • Oh my  goodness. Julian! That is so rude!
  • Geez, Julian SHUT UP!!
  • We did it anyway Mr Tushman.
  • August, did you enjoy the tour?
  • Mum, don't we need to pick up Via from school?
  • Oops, I forgot to ask you guys to show August the gymnasium.
