  • During the expedition the Narrator tries to explain he is not crazy.
  • climax
  • The Conflict was the Narrator saying he wanted to kill the old man, because of his vulture's eye and reteched heartbeat.
  • Fa Action
  • During the Rising action the old man wakes up and the Narrator stays still for the entire time until the climax, the heartbeat getting more maddening.
  • Resolution
  • The climax of the story is when the Narrator is driven mad by the old man's heart beat so he kills the old man with the bed and reverse assimilate him, hiding the body parts under the floorboards.
  • The Falling Action is when the Police show up on account of a shriek, the Narrator invites them in to let them search.
  • The Heart starts beating again driving the Narrator mad, causing him to confess and reveal the place he hid the body.
