This shows the reunion of Esau and his brother Jacob, and what God does to Jacob afterward.
Brother, I am so glad to see you again!
Yes, brother, I am sure.
Are you sure you don't want some of my men to accompany you??
Jacob looked up, and saw his brother Esau along with four hundred men. Jacob than walked before his wives, children, servants, and all he owned, bowing down to the ground seven times as he drew near his brother.
You are Jacob no longer, now I will call you Israel.
Esau ran to meet his brother, and they hugged and wept. Jacob's family and all of the servants bowed down before Esau, and Jacob presented his brother with a gift. Esau initially refuses, but at Jacob's urging accepts the gift.
You will have many descendants, and you will be the father of kings.
Jacob, his family, servants, and possessions, were going to continue their journey to find their own land. Esau offered to leave some of his men with Jacob, and he politely refuses. Then the two brothers go their separate ways, each satisfied with the outcome of the meeting.
This place is where the Lord spoke to me, it should now be called Bethel.
God than appeared to Jacob again, and said this to him. "Your name will not be Jacob anymore, I will call you Israel."
"I am God the Almighty, I will give you the land I gave to your forefathers and grant you many descendants, for kings will spring from your line of people." Then God departed from him.
Jacob than erected a pillar of stone at the spot where God had spoken to him, and gave the Lord an offering. He than named this place where God had spoken to him Bethel.
