1. Whatever goes upon 2 legs is an enemy 2. Whatever goes upon 4 legs, or has wings is a friend 3. No animal shall wear clothes 4. No animal shall sleep in a bed 5. No animal shall drink alcohol 6. No animal shall kill any other animal 7. All animals are equal
Once Mr.Jones fell asleep, all the animals began to arrive at the big barn in order to listen to Old Majors speech.
Beasts of England, beasts of Ireland, Beasts of every land and clime...
Old Major presents his speech, and explains that mankind is the reason for all their misfortunes and sufferings.
Abuse of Power
Old Major comes up with 7 commandments, that all animals must follow.
Old Major teaches all the animals a song, called the "Beasts of England".
In chapter one, there is no use of language which leads to the abuse of power. That happens later in the book after Old Major dies, and Napoleon and Snowball take over.
