Figurative Language Part 2
By cottens, Updated
This is a continuation of a map for a game app practicing identification of figurative language
Personification is when you assign the qualities of a person to something that isn't human
Can you picture this personification. The wind howled its mighty objection.
The last type of figurative language is hyperbole. Hyperbole is extreme exaggeration.
Two hyperboles are "I had a ton of homework." or "If I can’t buy that new game, I will die."
Here is a game you can play to practice recognizing the different forms of figurative language. A phrase will appear. Use the first letter of each type to label the phrase.
A correct response will earn points and another phrase. A wrong answer will go to a review of the word chosen, then another phrase.
Each screen will hopefully have an animated picture depicting the imagery.
Busy as a bee.
