I am the prosecutor. My witness is the jewelry store owner. Please tell the jury your story.
I was in my store when a man walked in looking very angry. He began to yell at me in spasmodic fits telling me about his fake jewel that I sold him.
I turned around for a minute or two and when I turned back around my store was a mess! There was a lot of jewelry missing and the defendant was the only other person in my store.
What happened next?
I went to look at the security cameras, but there was a breach in the system and they were turned off. After they started recording again, my large pot with a perennial blooming blocked the camera's view of the crime scene. Once the police got there, they had to commandeer all of the jewelry, which had the defendant's fingerprints all over it.
My trusting manners predispose me to being robbed!
We will take a brief recess while the jury deliberates.
I'm in such a muddle because they have a lot of evidence!
There is no verdict, the jury is in a deadlock and there will be a retrial at a future date.
