  • A Parliament is passed, the quartering act. The purpose of this act was to save money and to enforce the proclamation of 1763, Britain kept about 10,000 soldiers in the colonies.
  • Battle at Bunker Hill
  • Retreat!!!
  • You better get out of here!
  • The act required colonists to quarter, or house British troops and provide them with food and other supplies.
  • Battle at Bunker Hill
  • Retreat, out of ammo!!
  • The colonists protested angrily, the colonists complained that the parliament violated their rights.
  • Victory!!
  • The Americans waited till the British 150 feet away. When the Americans opened fire Hundreds of British soldiers fell dead and wounded. The British attacked the first two times but failed
  • The Third Attack was successful because the Americans ran out of ammunition and had to retreat
  • Victory!!!
  • The British had won but at a terrible cost, more than 1000 were killed or wounded. The Americans had proven they can fight with professional soldiers.
