The pig is trapped!
I'm hungry. And look! Here's a pig! Lets kill him!
Come on, Jack! You're the hunter! Do your job before it gets away!
Simon asks why
Yeah, why not?
I don't know. Next time!
Why didn't you do it? You had a perfect opportunity a second ago!
I believe that Simon would have acted in this scene. While in the book, everyone remained frozen (pg. 31) and the pig got away, I think that Simon would have tried to surround the pig and to help Jack get a good shot.
In the book, no one says a word when Jack hesitates. But I wanted Simon to push Jack into killing the pig. After all, Jack chose the job of being the hunter, and as a choir member, Simon would have looked up to Jack to lead anyway and take action.
Simon is confused as to why Jack doesn't act. Like the book, the pig still gets away this time. However, it is possible that Ralph and Jack will look up more to Simon now and not see him as just a boy who faints.
