As a child Jason was smuggled out of his kingdom and raised by Chiron The Gentle Centaur. After many years Jason returned to reclaim his throne and was sent on a quest to retrieve the Golden Fleece.
With the help of the goddesses Athena and Hera, Jason built the Argo, a ship with 50 oars. The shipmates of the Argo included many strong people, including Hercules, and they were called The Argonauts.
After many adventures The crew of the Argo arrived at the kingdom ruled by Aetes. Aetes gave Jason seemingly impossible tasks but with the help of Aetes daughter, a sorceress names Medea, who fell in love with Jason. He managed to complete the tasks.
After completing the tasks handed to him by Aetes, Medea led the Argos crew to the Golden Fleece. Medea then used a magic potion to put the dragon who guards the fleece to sleep, and the crew of the Argo set sail with Aetes in pursuit.
Medea slew and chopped up her brother then tossed him into the sea towards a nearby shore, knowing Aetes would stop pursuing The Argonauts to give his son a proper funeral.
Jason, the argonauts and Medea then sailed back to the Kingdom of Iolcus with the Golden Fleece.
