  • Hi pals, Im Doctor Cliff Swezey and this is Alex Macguayer, he is here today to talk about distributive  property.
  • ok, first what is distributive property?  distributive property lets you multiply a sum by multiplying each addend separately and then add the products
  • 4-4y=16
  • WOOW!!!, I kind of understand, but Alex may you give an example,please?
  • yes, for example: 8-4(y+1)=16 first you distribute -4 to y+1 8-4y-4=16
  • After this is done,  you need to combine like terms 8 and -4 on the left side of the equation.
  • clap, clap, clap, clap, clap, clap, clap, clap
