This was when we decided to make an embargo in Japan. We decided to cut off Japan from Steel and Oil. Keep in mind that this did anger the Japanese when it happened.

When Japan did attack Pearl Harbor it was during the night, so they could make there attack a surprise attack to the US. Some think that President Truman knew the attack was going to occur that's why so many soldiers were deployed at the time. But still in the end thousands of Americans died.
