While there was conflict throughout the golden age of Islam, there was also many advancements that occurred. One of these advancements was the use of anesthesia. This helped make surgical procedures less painful. However, these drugs were also addictive, and started to cause issues with drugs.
There were other medical contributions besides anesthesia. A man named Rhazes studied optics (the study of the eye), This helped change the way people could see and his findings lead to even more findings by later scholars. Along with optics, he also wrote about smallpox and measels.
During this golden age of Islam, papermaking came into the picture. Making paper was a lot easier to produce than parchimant. Paper was also a lot more durable. Because of these advantages, the people during this time adopted it into their society.
