Storyboard Text

  •  I am Elias Howe the creator of the sewing machine.
  • I am also the first person to successfully invented the sewing machine.
  • I created this machine so that women could create blankets and clothes a lot easier and faster.
  • Now that the sewing machine was invented, we use it to fix and produce new clothes.
  • We women, before the sewing machine was created, had to sew everything by hand. But since it was created, we have a much faster and easier work load.
  • Before someone successfully invented the sewing machine, society was quite hard. Every time there was a tear in your clothes women would have to sew the clothes by hand. This was quite slow and didn't hold very long.
  • After the sewing machine was invented, women had an easier workload and a much faster work process. It also allowed for things to be created with better results.
  • Now that our workload has been cut in half,  we can go out and do other stuff.
  • One of the positive impacts the sewing machine had was a lot better-made clothes but a negative impact was that the sewing skills declined.
  • Since the sewing machine was invented, our clothes are a lot sturdier.
  • Since the sewing machine was invented, the women in my family have lost their sewing skills.
