Storyboard Text

  • Interphase is the first step in the cell cycle.  When the cell is in interphase it's doing its job
  • Prophase is the first step in Mitosis. When a cell is in prophase the nucleus starts to divide
  • Metaphase is the second step in Mitosis. When a cell is in metaphase the spindle fibers sent out by the centrioles attach to the chromosomes lined up in the middle of the cell
  • Anaphase is the third step in Mitosis. When a cell is in anaphase the spindle fibers are pulling the chromosomes back to the centrioles.
  • Telophase is the fourth and final step of Mitosis. When the cell is in telophase the nucleus divides to form two nuclei
  • Cytokenisis is the last step of the cell cycle. In cytokinesis the cell becomes two cells. When cytokinesis is over each cell goes back to interphase and repeats the cell cycle
