Storyboard Text

  • Colin Singleton?! I know you! You're the child prodigy who won Kranial Kidz! I'm a huge fan! My name is Gene, and I'd be happy to help you. We should have some extra tools back at the school. Follow me!
  • Excuse me, my name is Colin Singleton and my car broke down. I'm going on a roadtrip, and I still have a while until my destination.
  • It's called Devon School. It's a prep school from World War II. I graduated years ago, but I still come back here a lot to visit. Come on in, let's go find the tools to fix your car.
  • Wow. This school is even older than my school for gifted children. What did you say it was called?
  • Valedictorian Class of '44: Gene Forrester
  • Well... the thing is... my best friend Finny and I had a complicated rivalry. I tried so hard in school to beat him in some way. I actually deliberately caused him to fall out of a tree back when we were in school. He isn't alive anymore, and I feel really guilty.
  • Gene! You didn't tell me that you were the top of your class! We have a lot in common. It's not often that I run into another smart kid.
  • anagrams of "valedictorian"...... "advil creation".. haha
  • I know, I know. I think about it everyday. I really don't want to talk about me anymore, though. So... what brings you to New Hampshire?
  • Well, as you know, I am on a road trip. I am searching to find a "eureka" moment, a purpose in life. Nothing seems to be progressing yet, but I can feel it will happen soon.
  • How could you do such a thing?! Sure my best friend Hassan and I fight, but not that harshly. We just insult each other in different languages.
  • This is taking way too long to fix, Colin. If I don't get it done by sunset, then you will be driving at dark, which means you will struggle navigating, which means I'm delaying you're "eureka" moment!
  • Breathe Gene. There's no need to overanalyze. I will be fine. I can stay the night in the woods. I may know a thing or two about wilderness survival.
  • Bye Colin! Be sure to visit again! I hope you find your "eureka" moment!
  • Goodbye Gene! Thank you so much for your help! You and I have a lot in common. I hope to see you soon!
