Storyboard Text

  • I am Martin Luther. The Pope should not be selling indulgences. No one can buy their way into heaven.
  • As the Pope, I think that Luther is wrong. The church needs money to build big cathedrals and to save the souls of people. People should be able to buy their way into heaven!
  • I am a European King. I do not know if I support Luther's new ideas or the Pope's old ways. I will have to pick a side so I, and my people, can go to heaven!
  • We as citizens do not know who to support, but we do agree that the Church needs to be reformed.
  • Getting into heaven and saving souls was very important to the people and the church. Is the Church acting very loving and Christlike?
  • While the Church did eventually agree to stop selling indulgences, the damage was done. As a result, Christianity was forever broken into two main groups -  Protestants and Catholics
