The Battle of Gonzales was on October 2, 1835
Come and take it
This battle was between rebellious Texans, and Mexican soldiers. It was this battle that began the domino effect to the Texas Revolution.
John Henry Moore
It is to my understanding that John Henry Moore was in charge of the Texans and Domingo de Ugartechea and Santa Anna were with the Mexicans.
Domingo de Ugartechea and Santa Anna
The cause of the Battle of Gonzales was that Mexico and Texas became angry at each other and wanted to fight each other. Also mexican soldiers were trying to take back a cannon and the Texans refused to give it to them.
Effect: The Battle of Gonzales started the Revolution which then led to many more battles. Because the Texans refused to give back the cannon, the Mexican soldiers returned to San Antonio without the cannon.
The Battle of Gonzales was the first battle to make the Texas Revolution take place, so now we know what caused the Texas Revolution.
