Storyboard Text

  • The story starts with Montresor talking about how Fortunato has been insulting him and he vowed revenge. It's carnvial season and Montresor meets Fortunato in a street. Montresor tells him he has a pipe of Amontillado and he doubts if it's real. Fortunato is a rich wine expert. Fortunato wants to try it, and he is already a bit drunk.
  • Montresor leads Fortunato to his palazzo. He knows the home will be empty. They go through a staircase, and arrive at the catacombs of the Montresors.
  • Fortunato has a bad cough from the niter, so Montresor gives him some more wine to "help" his cough. They drink and walk through the vaults. They see the family crest and Montresor explains it to him, it means "No one attacks me with impunity" with a snake biting a foot. The motto is a symbol for revenge against Fortunato talking bad.
  • Nemo me impune lacessit
  • Fortunato does a weird movement to symbolize that he is part of the Masons. He asks Montresor if he is and proof of it, and Montresor pulls out a trowel of the Masons. They continue on, with Fortunato being so drunk he needs help walking.
  • Montresor tells Fortunato that they are almost at the Amontillado. There is no Amontillado but a hole in the wall. Montresor pushes Fortunato into it and chains him up. He has building stone and mortar right by him.
  • Montresor begins to wall up the entrance of the niche. Montresor puts on the first tier and realizes Fortunato's drunkeness was wearing off. Fortunato lets out a low moaning cry then is silent. Montresor lays 3 more tiers and hears furious vibrations from the chain. He puts 3 more and hears violent screams. Montresor does 11 tiers then puts in a stone. He hears Fortunato laughing and saying how it's such a funny joke. But then Fortunato is silent, probably dead or fainted, and Montresor's work is done and he got his revenge.
