  • Some main characters Jip, Put, Shelton, Mr. and Mrs. Lyman, the Wilkens, the Stevensens, Teacher, the Brackets, the slave catchers, and members of the poor farm.The setting is in Vermont and on a poor farm in the 1880's before the civil war.

  • The conflict is that Jip is living on a poor farm and does not know his parents.

  • You need to prove Jip is your property.
  • The falling actions is when Put gets glasses and when Jip says the stranger is up to no good.

  • The climax is when Jip finds out he is a slave. 
  • The falling actions were when Put dies and when Teacher says the slave catcher has to prove Jip is his property.
  • The resolution is Jip runs away and lives with Ezikial Freeman in Canada.
