Farah Ahmedi was born into the world just as the war between the mujahideen and the Soviets reached its peak in Afghanistan.
One day Farah decided to take the short cut to school. On her way there she stepped on a land mine.
AHH!!! Help me!!!!!
What happened? Where am I? What happened to my leg?
You stepped on a land mine on your way to school.
Farah, we are at the Kabul Children's Hospital
Farah spent 40 days at the Kabul Children's Hospital, than got transferred to a better hospital in Germany that was better equipped to take care of her in her serious condition.
We are going to have to amputate her leg.
After 2 years at the German hospital, Farah's leg finally healed and she was ready to go home, but Afghanistan had been taken over by the Taliban. Her father, brother, and other family members died, so her and her mother decided to go to america.
Finally, Farah and her mother arrived in America. With the help of World Relief, they moved into a small apartment, Farah started school, and they started their new life.
