Storyboard Text

  • Abdul Rehman was 8 years old when the division of the country happened and many other families in his village had to migrate.
  • One day while working in the fields near his home village, there were rumors of nearby villages being invaded and people being killed. Abdul hid in the sugarcane fields until the invaders had left.
  • After waiting out the invaders he came back to the town to find many people dead in the streets. Lots of the stores and homes were looted as well.
  • Most of his family members were killed in the attack and eventually the remaining people from the village were transported to a refugee camp by army convoy's where he spent about a month .
  • He was then later moved to a new city, Sialkot, where he had to learn a whole new language. His family was also not compensated for any land that they owned prior of the refugee camp.
  • After a rough time in the new city, Abdul later moved Daultala. He continued to farm and cultivate crops, regretting that the whole Partition ever happened.
