Storyboard Text

  • Hi, I need to tell you a story of my sailing experiences
  • Do you have to? I have a wedding to get to. It starts very soon
  • The mariner's ship departed and was driven south by a storm, eventually reaching Antarctic waters, where they encountered mist
  • An albatross appeared and led the ship out of the ice jam they were stuck in. The crew praised it but the mariner then shot it which made the crew angry
  • Sailors changed mind about anger when mist disappears and weather becomes warmer. This was a grave mistake, it aroused the wrath of spirits who pursued the ship 'from the land of mist and snow'.
  • The wind which had led them from the land of ice sent the ship into uncharted waters near the equator. It is becalmed. Sailors became thirsty and blamed changed their mind again, blaming the mariner. The crew forced the mariner to wear the dead albatross around his neck. It was too late and the spirits killed the sailors on the ship.
  • The sailors' corpses helped steer the ship back to port when the winds picked up. When the ship got back to port the sailors stopped and the ship sunk. The mariner was rescued by the pilot's boat which had come to lead the ship into port.
