I have long days at work, so most days I pick up something through fast food restaurant drive thru and/or picks ups.
Have you heard of the Choose My Plate? It replaced the Nutritional Pyramid that you have most likely seen.
Eating healthy will help me reduce my chances of heart disease. I think I need to start working on my physical fitness too!
After hearing about Choose My Plate from Mr. Jones' Nurse, he made a health conscious effort to change his food habits for healthier way of living. And went out shopping at the grocery store, started cooking healthy meals to bring to work and to eat at home.
All these results lead to an increased risk for Heart Disease. High cholesterol can lead to build up substance in the arteries of the heart which will lead to decrease blood flow of the heart, thus heart attack. High blood sugar (glucose) causing build up of sugar in the blood, too much sugar can lead to coma and death. High blood pressure 'silent killer' causes increased pressure to blood vessels, if not treated it will affect your heart and other organs.
United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) created Choose My Plate which is changing the way you eat. It begins by making small changes in what you eat and drink daily. Eating the right amount of calories for you, less saturated fats, sodium and sugars.
Adults of all ages have different nutritional needs. As you age maintaining healthy lifestyle lowers your risk for cancer, diabetes, heart disease and hypertension.
