I'm the only teacher in the whole building who uses the SMARTBoard every day.
My students use STMath every day at 10:00, & we've taken the most AR quizzes in the school!
Oh, I'm all about blended learning! My students are always using the computers.
Oh, I'm sorry, Mrs. Martin, but in my class we each have a laptop!
We write all of our reports in class
It's all about the teacher's role and the student's role in the learning process. I'm the "sage on the stage", while they are in charge of the pace, place, and path of their learning.
That's a great description of Technology Rich, but you've both missed one of the main aspects of Blended Learning!
Of course, my students still have face time with me in class, but also have engaging tasks that have been differentiated for their needs. We can interact in real time, whether they are at school or at home or anywhere really.
Online delivery of content, time for thoughtful reflection and commentary, and students at the center of the learning. Win-win for everyone, as far as I'm concerned.
I don't know about you, but I don't have to be hit upside the head to figure out that true Blended Learning is surely the way to go! Think big, but take baby steps. You can do this!
