Girls and women were strongly discriminated by boys and men. Baseball is a good example of the discrimination the women had to face because there was no such thing as baseball for women and when they wanted to play, they were teased.
During the Great Depression, many people were homeless due to the loss of their money and jobs. People were living on the streets and built Hoovervilles which were named after president Herbert Hoover. They lived in very run-down houses.
In the 1930s, a Dust Bowl destroyed American and Canadian crops and vegetation. Many people were shocked and devastated that their crops were destroyed. The vegetation and crops were turned to dust.
No! Our crops are destroyed! What are we gonna do?!
