  • His name is Mr Phileas Fogg (right). He was member of the Reform Club. He is a very  methodical gentleman, so when his servant (left) brought hot water of eighty-four degrees instead of hot water of eighty-six degrees into Fogg's room, his servant was dismissed by Fogg immediately. After that , Passepartout of French who wants an orderly life was hired as a new his servant instead.
  • Mr. Fogg knew that railroad was established between London and India. By that, he insisted to other club member's that it's possible to travel round the world in eight days. he spent half the 20000 pounds of all his property for traveling expenses, the other half was spent for cashing with club member's. Therefore, if he could not make round the world in eight days, he would lose all his property. These are travel plans in order to make round the world in eight days.
  • Traveling of Mr. Fogg and Passepartout {right}. started in  2 October at 8.45 in the evening, so they have to arrive London in 21st December, at 8.45 in the evening. In 22 October ,they knew by newspaper on Bombay that the railway laying was not completed between Bombay and Calcutta yet. Reluctantly, they brought the elephant of two thousand pounds in order to proceed between two stations.
  • On their way to next station, they come across a procession in which a young Indian woman, Aouda, is to undergo sati. Since the young woman is drugged with opium and hemp and is obviously not going voluntarily, they decide to rescue her. They follow the procession to the site, where Passepartout takes the place of Aouda's deceased husband on the funeral pyre on which she is to be burned. During the ceremony he rises from the pyre, scaring off the priests, and carries the young woman away.
  • In San Francisco, they got on a train bound for New York. On the way to the train, the train was attacked by Sioux Indians, and the Sioux took Passepartout and a other two passengers as a hostage. Mr. Fogg struggled with continuing his journey without Passepartout or going to rescue Pasepartout. He decided to rescue them, and he headed toward the Indian village with the soldiers near the four, and they succeeded to liberate the hostages safely.
  • However, Fogg could not get on the train. And, at 8:50pm , they arrived in London five minutes behind. That means he lose his bet and loses all his wealth. But, he was not unhappiness. It's because he made best friends by this journey. Also, Passepartout and Aouda got engaged.
