A boy and a girl learn a valuable lesson on how not to judge a book by its cover after exploring a mysterious house.
Lucy and her family just move onto Millgrove street where they live across from a mysterious looking house. Their mom warns them about the house and how whoever lives there is never seen outside.
Lucy and her brother Jack decide to go explore the mysterious house but get frightened by the door which opens by itself and head home. They create a plan where they are inside the house the next day.
They realize the inside is normal looking compared to the outside. An old man who used to work in the military explains how he is never seen because of his walking disability. The kids learn how they judged the man and his house before getting to know him.
