Storyboard Text

  • South Haven, Michigan
  • Do you see the moon? When it is out, and you can see the sky, the weather must be beautiful, and no one is complaining. It is quite grand.
  • I hope she will be okay
  • Genevieve, 17 years old, has just found out that her neighbor, Miss Petty has died in the snow after her 25th yearly "snow-sit." Everyone thought that Miss Petty had fallen asleep on accident, but Genevieve knew better; Miss Petty had decided to become one with nature
  • 10 years earlier [flashback] - Yearly, Miss Petty would lie outside in her yard on the coldest day to admire the eerie stillness. And when it started snowing, she would go back inside. On the day Genevieve was 7 years old, she slipped out of the house and joined Miss Petty in order to understand her appreciation of nature.
  • After that night, Genevieve got pneumonia, and became deaf. Genevieve was no longer allowed outside during the winter because of her unstable immune system.
  • Genevieve Michelle  1980-1987 beloved daughter
  • Genevieve was tired of everyone treating her like a baby and not letting her outside, so she decided to run away even though it was freezing cold and it was supposed to snow. All she wanted to be was free.
  • Genevieve had a long day, and met many amazing people that changed her life with their kind actions. She had walked all the way to  the Lake of Michigan, and as she sat there, she had a sudden realization.
  • Genevieve visited the graveyard the next day, but could not find Miss Petty's grave. Instead, her suspicions were confirmed that there was never a Miss Petty. After Genevieve had died on the snow day from a severe case of pneumonia, her spirit continued to evolve on its' own. The truth that she was actually dead was covered up by Miss Petty, a character of Genevieve's mind. After leaving the house and breaking the cycle, she was free.
