Storyboard Text

  • Hey mom! Manny's mom just had a baby and it has muscular turnacolies!
  • Ya! What is it?
  • Tordicollis?
  • The word torticollis means “twist neck”. Muscular torticollis is when a muscle on the side of a baby’s neck, the sternocleidomastoid, either shortens or tightens.
  • What does it do to you and how do you get it?
  • It will give you a tilted or rotated head position. Also, you can't really catch this, it's more of how you get it. How you get muscular torticollis is when the baby in the mother's stomach is cramped or in an abnormal position.
  • how can you prevent getting this?
  • There is no way to prevent this from happening, but if you get it you can do Physcial Therapy to help get rid of it.
  • So, medication?
  • No. You can't take medication for it. But again Physical Therepy is always an option
  • Wait! Do I have tordicollis?
  • Haha! No, you do not.
