  • Pay up half of your fees!

  • We need food! We're starving
  • Enlightenment Philosophies
  • All the peasants had to pay up half of their fees in order to avoid being taken in and or executed.
  • Tennis Court Oath
  • We need to do something about this now!
  • During the harsh winter, the lower class (the peasants) began to starve. They had to give up half of their crops for supplies that they needed to survive.
  • Storming of the Bastille
  • During this time, all the philosophers began to make theories about the government and his motives. These philosophers were part of the French revolution and wanted to strike back for equality.
  • Women's March to Versailles
  • Those of sort of high class held a meeting that was about the laws and direction the government was trying to lead. These men began to think that the government/king wanted to disband them.
  • This event took place in Paris, France on July 4th. Many people were outraged about their government being unfair and misleading. They barged into the area, ready to express their anger that they held in for so long.
  • Bread was very valuable to commoners, especially in the harsh winter. Suddenly, the bread prices began to raise up. This issue had angered commoners (mostly women) so they took it upon themselves to take action and settle what had been happening.
